Reflecting back on a year ago, I am surprised at how much I actually accomplished over our quarantine. I painted A LOT. I enrolled in several college art courses. I even took several painting lessons from my mentor, Mike Rooney, via Zoom. Who could have imagined I would be taking lessons from Mike when he is in Key West, and I am in San Diego?! On top of all that, that I saw more of my adult children than I had in ages..... I call those things "silver linings",
In other news....
In February, I joined an art collective called Adore Art Gallery, in Carlsbad CA. I put a dozen paintings up and in the course of 5 and a half months, I sold 8 of my paintings! I had no idea what to expect, so I was pleasantly surprised. May paintings will be there through the end of June.
Last week, I was juried in to the Southwest Artists Association. They are housed in Studio 23 in The Spanish Village Art Center in Balboa Park. Beginning next week, I will have several pieces on display and for sale in Studio 23. I hope that everyone who is in the area visiting Balboa Park will stop in. SVAC is a wonderful area for people who love to collect art from local artisans. There are many different types of artists there: painters, potters, jewelry makers, and more! http://www.swartists.com
